Bath Disaster!

The other day I went to a Relief Society activity and when I came home I saw my plant on the counter with stems broken and dirt all over. I asked Dallas what happened to my plant and he said... "what happened to your plant?!! Let me show you what happened to your plant!!!" Apparently Brayden had a nasty blow-out and while Dallas was changing him, Brayden put his foot in the poo and so Dallas decided he probably needed a bath. While taking a bath Brayden found my plant and decided it need a bath too! (I of course reminded Dallas that I previously instructed him that you have to move EVERYTHING out of the baby's reach when giving him a bath in the sink-I guess he learned his lesson) ;o) Thankfully I have an awesome husband and he cleaned up the mess before I got home...AND took pictures so that I could laugh too!!

add two more sicks to that last post!

Ok... so now Dallas has an ear infection... plus an eye infection starting! And Tyrell has had an ear infection (but he doesn't like to talk about it). Dallas asked the doctor if ear infections are contageous and he said, "yes, but usually they don't get passed because of their location" apparently we have a "hopping" ear infection!!! Good thing they are all on drugs and no one else should suffer....PLEASE!!!!!

Sick...Sick...Sick..Sick...and one more SICK!!!!

You won't believe the day Rose and I had yesturday! The kids have all been sick on and off for a few months and this past week they've had some eye goobers that have gotten pretty nasty! So, we decided it was time to take them to the doctor! ALL OF US!!! We made an appointment together 'cause I don't have a car and it's easier to have two adults even though there is double the amount of children. When they called us back, they only called Rose's kids and I said "plus the other Maughans... right?" She said she wasn't sure they were related 'cause of the different parents... but we explained they are cousins and so we all went to the teeny room together. We created a line at the "weigh station" and when we saw the doctor he had to go around the room looking at everybody's eyes and then ears and then he decided he'd better go one at a time so as not to confuse the results. This was after discovering that not only did Noah have an eye infection, but also two infected ears. Next was Lauren... goopy eyes and what do you know! Ear infection... right ear. Then Hyrum, who is SUPPOSED to get chronic ear infections due to the cleft... did NOT have one.... just some goopies. Then Brayden.... goopy eyes and yet again.. ANOTHER ear infection (right ear). Well, the dr. was just teasing emma and noticed some goopies in her eye (she wasn't scheduled for a visit). So, he decided to check her ears too! Right ear infection. Anyone noticing a pattern? You'd think these kids lived together or something! ;o) So, an hour and a half later, we left the dr. office with 5 sick kids! Can you believe it!!!!! Just keep your fingers crossed that the mommies don't get it! So THEN we had to pick up everybodies antibiotics and eye drops. Apparently this eye thing is going around 'cause there was only one bottle left! Luckily, faithful Walmart had some in stock. NOW you should see the fiasco of trying to get everybody their meds! the babies can't fight back much, so that wasn't a biggie, Noah actually thought it was funny, but poor Emma.... I had to hold her head between my knees while holding her arms down so that Rose could hold her eyes open to put the drops in! After that traumatizing event... Emma kept saying " I wanna go to aunt Taralee's!!!!" So, we let her call Taralee and she quickly changed her mood. Well.... until she got off the phone, then I just felt so bad for the poor girl... she was tired and kept crying and saying, "i'm siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!!!" Real sad like! but, it was kinda funny too, 'cause at the dr. office she insisted that she WAS NOT SICK! ;o) Anyway... so nobody come visit us for a few days!

Ucon House

Here are a bunch of pictures of our house... try to piece them together! I'll try and go in order...when you come in the front door, you walk into the entry way, then into the living room. The living room has a window that looks at the neighbors fence and our dying apple tree! It also has a built-in bookshelf (that i LOVE) and a wood stove. It's kinda small, but cute. Off the living, through glass french doors (until they all get boken!!) is the boys' room, which is HUGE and has a built-in cupboard/closet thingy. The other room off the living room (no halls in this house!) is the master bedroom with a "master bath"-needs some work, but still a NICE touch. And yes, my wedding dress IS hanging up on the wall... Tacky... I know! They weren't really thinking when they put the bedrooms along the road! Now that it is nice enough to sleep with the windows open, I am up all night with random "hicks" driving around at 2am blaring the country (or whatever) or driving by on their very noisy 4-wheelers! Then I wake up nice and early to the outside ZOO!!!! I hear horses, dogs, and a MILLION birds! I'm sure I will get used to it, but it's crazy right now. Anyway.... The last room off the living room, is the kitchen which also has a back entrance off the porch. The kitchen is large, kinda a wierd layout... the fridge is on a wall all by itself... a wall that is that fake brick stuff (makes me laugh). Because the house was built in 1909 we have a lot of neat "old" features, like the cupboards that go to the ceiling and I have to pull over a chair to get anything out! Off the kitchen is the main bathroom, and also the laundry room (which is also a wierd layout-washer/dryer are on separate sides). The laundry room leads to the basement that we are working on.... i'll do another entry totally dedicated to the basement. SO! That's the inside. Outside we have a little patio/deck thing and a fire pit, a pretty large garden that, yes, I have planted. I feel like i'm just watering the weeds though! ;O) We planted some raspberry shutes that i'm super excited about, some fruit trees from Dallas' mom, and some pine trees. For a house this old... I can't believe nobody ever planted trees!!!!!!!!!!!! We actually have a nice view from the back. It feels like we are in the middle of nowhere when you look out the back window, because you see a field and the mountains are in the background... LOVE IT!!! Dallas and I love to just sit out on the back porch and talk. Ok... so maybe I love it, but I think Dallas enjoys it too.;o)

PROM

Dallas was gone for a week to Nebraska (without me!) for some training for work. He was only 20min from my parent's house! Anyway... so when he got back on April 26th after a long night of sleeping in the airport baggage area (cancelled his flight) he still took me to Idaho Falls'
"second chance prom". Awwwww... isn't that so sweet! ;o) We took the kids to Dallas' sister, Taralee (and Dustin... can't forget the hubby) for the night. THANK YOU!!!! We dropped them off and then went to blast off for a pitiful game of miniature golf! Then we ate at pizza hut... new fav! And then we came home to get all prettied-up. Sad thing was... I couldn't zip up my dress! HA!!!!!! oh well... I ended up wearing my BYU-I concert band dress. Not the prettiest thing, but it worked. It was a good thing we took pictures before we left, 'cause while we were in line for them at the dance, we saw money being passed across the table... which we didn't bring any in, so we left the line. It was a little wierd dancing with a bunch of strangers, and I admit I was a tad bit embarrassed, but then I looked around and saw people MUCH older than me going crazy... and I didn't worry about looking silly anymore! We had a ton of fun. Even better news is that we got to SLEEP IN the next morning!!!! Once again... thank you Taralee and Dustin!!! OH! and for those of you who did not go to highschool with me... you don't have to feel bad that i "didn't get to go to prom"... i did! We just wanted to go dancing... and it was FREE!!! We will be adding that to our list of traditions. ;o)

Day of Boredom

As promised, here is what Rose and I did while we were bored... We went to Walgreens to get our "free" stuff (new tradition) and while we were there,we saw that hair dye was on sale 2 for $5, so we thought it would be something fun to do. I immediately chose red, 'cause that's the color I died it 3 or so years ago and I loved it. Rose went for a lighter brown. When we checked-out, they gave me a $2 off coupon for the same hair dye... so we came back the next day to buy another box (this is when Rose got a highlighting kit). And AGAIN a coupon prints out when we checked-out... so we bought another box!!! We each ended up with 3 hair-dyes for the price of one normal box! I was pretty excited. So, while the kids were taking naps,we dyed our hair. There are some before, during, and after pictures. The next day Rose had me highlight her hair (she's very brave). I'd never done it before, but I'm proud to say there were no patches! Definitely not a professional job, but it turned-out looking good. When Dallas saw my hair he just said, "you always have to do something don't you!" But, he loves it! So,I'll probably be a red-head for quite some time.... I've got two boxes left! ;O)
